ethernais - dev log - update May 2024
here's some notable changes:
- locally hosted server means incredible improvement in the speed of the response to player actions (no internet connection required anymore)
- removed login requirement - the game creates up to 3 local profiles.
- proficiencies - each character starts with 3 levels of proficiency in their relevant skill categories
- spells are divided into their respective canons and increasing level of proficiency in particular school improves the spell outcomes for all spells in that canon.
- new radial quick menu - right click on things to see the quick action short cuts
- item quality - every procedurally generated item in the game now has a quality property that affects it's stats
- craftsmanship proficiency affects quality of items crafted by player's character
- discarding a card can yield some of the ingredients used in crafting to create it (chance improves with characters craftsmanship level)
- new journal to keep track of quests in the character sheet -
updated intro scenarios for all characters - new level up progress options
- added boots & gloves inventory category
- added new spells and weapons
- wands can now be enchanted with dreams/nightmares caught by the dreamcatcher and improved further with additional ingredients.
- additional location interaction options
